The British Guide to German Beer:
Berkshire

Back to list of Counties

The Three Guineas, Reading Station
Thanks to Stuart Shurlock, who says "The Three Guineas pub at Reading station has bottled König Ludwig Weissbier (50cl). I did previously spot someone with a branded glass, but I had to make do with a normal pint glass. The Hope Tap, Friar Street, Reading (a Wetherspoons) has bottled Erdinger Weissbier, as do many other Wetherspoons outlets, but they are a weird size, 33 cl I think."

The Wine Company, 93-95 Stoke Road, Slough, Berks 5BJ. Tel 01753 797579 [map] John Conen reports that it's "A new local outlet for German beer... selection is good - over 20 varieties, and there is a huge selection of British and Belgian ales in bottles."

Palmer Wines, 61 Wokingham Road, Reading. RG6 1LH. [map] Tel: 0118 935 3555. Listed as a stockist by Beer Paradise, so certainly worth a look.

If you know of anywhere that I've missed (and there must be many), please email me.

Fruh Kolsch Bottle

It's worth checking out the mainstream off licences and major supermarkets, and if you still can't find what you're looking for locally, try our Mail Order listings.
