The Black Horse, Main Street, East Hanney, Oxon. Tom Fryer (of the Oxford Bottled Beer Database) says: "An excellent village pub, listed in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. As well as English cask ales, it offers several excellent German beers on tap including Erdinger Weissbier (it claims to be the only Oxfordshire pub offering Weissbier on tap), plus a number of bottles including Franziskaner Hefeweizen, Erdinger Weissbier and Erdinger Dunkel. Their menu also features traditional German food."
The Grog Shop, 13 Kingston Road, Oxford OX2 6EF [map]. Tom Fryer (of the Oxford Bottled Beer Database) says: "Independent off-licence with a good range of beers, some occasionally available to buy in polypins (UK ales). German beers I have seen there include Erdinger Pikantus, Schlenkerla Rauchbier, Schneider Weisse, Dortmunder Union, but selection changes."
Classic Beers and Wines, 254 Cowley Road, Oxford OX4 1UH [map]. Tom Fryer (of the Oxford Bottled Beer Database) says: "Delicatessen/off-licence specialising in bottled beers from all over the world. It's possible to find some pretty good stuff, including a good range of organic beers. However, selection is variable and it's also worth checking BBE dates. German beers I have seen there include EKU 28, Riedenburger Michaeli, Henninger Kaiser Premium, Maisel's Weisse, etc."
